How do I catch a fish?

Aim where your line should land, then cast. The hook sails out, splashes down and sinks. It catches fish on the way down and on the way back up. Press and hold to pause the lure at any depth, and let go to reel it in. When you hook a fish, answer its math question to land it.

A big fish is fighting back. What do I do?

Sharks, tuna, alligators and sea serpents put up a fight: tap REEL quickly to haul them in. You can also tap the water or press Space. Watch the boat-tilt meter: yank too hard and a monster can flip your boat, which ends the round. Better rods tip far less, and the Infinite and 67 modes never capsize.

I hooked a dolphin. Should I keep it?

Dolphins, whales and sea turtles are protected, just like in the real ocean. Release them and they'll leap for joy at no cost. Keeping one costs you points.

What are XP stars and rods?

โญ XP stars and hauled-up trash (๐Ÿฅพ, ๐Ÿฅซ) upgrade your rod during a round: Bamboo โ†’ Fiberglass โ†’ Carbon โ†’ Titanium. Better rods reel faster and resist capsizing. Your rod resets each round.

What does the grade range at the end of a round mean?

It's a rough estimate of the grade level a player is comfortably working at, on three skills: computation, concepts and abstract reasoning. It only appears after at least 10 questions answered with better accuracy than guessing, and it's a guide, not a test score.

Why did a question I missed come back?

That's on purpose. Missed question types return a few catches later with new numbers (look for "๐Ÿ” One more look"), so there's another chance to get them right.

What does "Hear it" do?

In Beginner mode, the ๐Ÿ”Š Hear it button reads the question aloud for early readers, using your device's built-in voice.

Skibidi & purchases

What's free, and what does Skibidi unlock?

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced are free. The Skibidi subscription unlocks Hardcore, Mad Max, Legendary, Just Fishing, 67 and Infinite. See the terms for subscription details.

Why do I have to solve a puzzle before buying?

That's the parental gate. It keeps kids from making purchases or leaving the app on their own, so a grown-up needs to answer it.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

In the app, go to Settings โ†’ Subscription โ†’ Manage Subscription. You can also use your Apple Account's subscription settings: on iPhone or iPad, Settings โ†’ [your name] โ†’ Subscriptions; on Mac, App Store โ†’ your account โ†’ Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.

I subscribed, but modes are still locked.
  • Go to Settings โ†’ Subscription โ†’ Restore Purchases.
  • Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with.
  • If a family organizer subscribed, check that Family Sharing is on for purchases.
  • If it still won't unlock, email us. Please don't send payment details; Apple handles all billing.
Can my whole family use one subscription?

Yes. Skibidi supports Family Sharing, so up to six family members can use it on their own devices.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Progress & iCloud

My progress isn't showing up on my other device.
  • Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on both devices, and keep iCloud on for Reel Math.
  • Connect both devices to the internet and give them a minute. iCloud syncs in the background.
  • Use the same angler name on both devices. Progress is saved per name.
  • Settings โ†’ iCloud in the app shows whether syncing is on.
Can different kids have their own progress?

Yes. Each angler name keeps its own skill levels, review questions and Field Guide. Pick a name from the menu's recent-anglers list, or type a new one.

How do I start over?

To remove one player, go to Settings โ†’ Anglers and tap the trash button next to their name. To erase everything (every angler, high score and Field Guide entry, on all your devices), go to Settings โ†’ Data โ†’ Reset All Progress. This can't be undone.

Music & sound

Can I play my own music?

Yes. In Settings โ†’ Music, choose:

  • Game Soundtrack: Bach and pieces from Anna Magdalena's Notebook, chosen by mode and weather.
  • Choose a Tune: pick your favourite built-in pieces and the order they play in.
  • My Music Files: import songs from Files or iCloud Drive (DRM-free audio such as MP3, M4A or WAV).
  • Apple Music: play songs from your music library.
  • Another App: keep Music, Spotify or a podcast playing while the game adds only its sound effects.

You can also change the instrument (harpsichord, music box or chiptune) and the music and effects volumes.

There's no sound.
  • Check the ๐Ÿ”Š button in the game's top bar.
  • On iPhone, the Ring/Silent switch also silences the game.
  • If another app is playing audio, the game's soundtrack waits for it to stop. Pause that app, or choose Another App in Settings โ†’ Music.
Apple Music won't play.

Reel Math needs permission to use your music library. Allow it when asked, or turn it on later in your device's settings for Reel Math (on Mac: System Settings โ†’ Privacy & Security โ†’ Media & Apple Music). Songs that are only in the Apple Music catalog need an active Apple Music subscription.

Accessibility

Does Reel Math work with VoiceOver and larger text?

Yes. Menus, questions and answers support VoiceOver, including math that is read aloud as words ("3 over 4", "x squared"), and question cards grow with Dynamic Type. Settings โ†’ Gameplay โ†’ Reduce motion calms the animation and particle effects.
