Privacy Policy

Who we are

Reel Math is made by BlueTao LLC ("BlueTao", "we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Reel Math app and this website. If you have a question, email reelmath@bluetao.com.

What the app stores, and where

To keep your game going, Reel Math stores the following on your device, and, if iCloud is turned on, in your own iCloud account:

• Angler names you type on the menu (we suggest a first name or nickname).
• Game progress: high scores, estimated skill levels for the endless modes, questions you missed (so they can come back for another try), which question types you've recently seen (so they don't repeat too soon), the Field Guide of species you've found, and totals like games played and questions answered.
• Settings: music choice, volumes, haptics and similar preferences.
• A random identifier created on the device, used only to add up lifetime totals correctly across your own devices. It isn't linked to you, your device's hardware or any advertising identifier.

None of this is sent to BlueTao or to any third party. We don't run servers for the app, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or social SDKs.

iCloud

If you're signed in to iCloud, Reel Math uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage so your progress follows you between your iPhone, iPad and Mac. This data is stored by Apple in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. BlueTao cannot read it. If iCloud is off, everything stays on the device.

Purchases and subscriptions

The optional Skibidi subscription is sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app asks Apple's StoreKit on your device whether a subscription is active, and remembers the answer on the device so locked modes don't flicker when you're offline. Purchases happen only after a parental gate.

Music, files and speech

• Apple Music: if you choose to play songs from your library, the app asks for permission to access your music library. It reads the songs you pick, on your device, to play them. The identifiers of the songs you choose are saved in your settings so they're remembered. Apple Music playback is handled by Apple.
• Your audio files: files you import are copied into the app's private storage on that device. They are not uploaded or synced anywhere.
• Read-aloud: the "Hear it" button uses the speech voices built into your device. Nothing you hear is sent anywhere.

Children's privacy

Reel Math is designed for children and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and nothing in the app sends personal information to us or to third parties. Angler names and progress stay on the device and in the family's own iCloud. Purchases and links that leave the app are behind a parental gate. This approach is meant to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws.

Diagnostics from Apple

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports and usage statistics. These don't identify you, and you can turn sharing off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements (on Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements).

Your choices and rights

• Delete a player: Settings → Anglers in the app.
• Delete everything: Settings → Data → Reset All Progress erases all players, scores and the Field Guide on this device and in your iCloud. Deleting the app removes on-device data; iCloud data can also be removed in your device's iCloud storage settings.
• Stop syncing: turn off iCloud for Reel Math, or sign out of iCloud.

Because we don't collect or hold personal information, there's nothing on our side to access, correct, export or delete. That's true under the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA and similar laws. We do not sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

This website

reelmath.bluetao.com uses no cookies, analytics, trackers or third-party fonts or scripts. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information (like IP addresses) to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Reel Math handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect. Material changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
